Where’s Waldo Hat

November 30, 2007

Done on the Knifty Knitter yellow loom, to fit my sister’s giant head of hair. I used Caron’s Simply Soft in white and red. I’ve only used the green loom for hats before, so when I first started I thought this was going to end up ginormous. But with the stretchy-ness of the yarn, it fit quite well without being too snug.

Lame pun ahead! Looks like this project was just right way to cap off a Halloween costume.

Long-Term Knitting Project: Kenobi Jacket

November 21, 2007

Here’s what I started at the beginning of 2007. It’s my most ambitious project yet, and it looks as though it’s going to take me approximately 1-50 years to complete.  I haven’t gotten very far, although part of the reason is that I did almost no knitting over the summer.  Something about yarn and hot weather just don’t go together for me.  I’ve been trying to pick it up again this fall, but for whatever reason I’m having trouble making much progress on this one.  I keep getting distracted by other projects.  The pattern is from the spring 2007 Knitscene magazine.

I’m going to put a zipper or buttons on the front instead of that ridiculous needle, because I just don’t see how that’s going to be practical at all.
